Start with the essentials

There is no universal requirement to use two accounts. Some households prefer one account with a written allocation; others find a separate reserve easier to manage. Compare fees, minimum balances and the effort of maintaining both.

What you can do

  1. List the purpose of each account before opening another.
  2. Schedule a realistic transfer for bills or savings when income arrives.
  3. Monitor both statements and keep contact details and nominations current.

Keep in mind

An account without a UPI link can still be exposed through other channels. Strong security and prompt reporting remain necessary.
