Start with the essentials

The battery, charging system, wiring and lamps work together. Keep a record of when a problem appears, such as after rain or with an accessory switched on, and share it with the technician.

What you can do

  1. Test low beam, high beam, brake lamp and indicators before a night journey.
  2. Have the battery and charging output tested if starting becomes unreliable.
  3. Use approved electrical accessories and avoid loose or improvised wiring.

Keep in mind

Do not open a sealed battery, short terminals or work on live wiring. Follow the battery maker’s handling and charging instructions.
